A new variant of the Adaptive Cross Approximation (ACA) for approximation of dense block matrices is presented. This algorithm can be applied to matrices arising from the Boundary Element Methods (BEM) for elliptic or Maxwell systems of partial differential equations. The usual interpolation property of the ACA is generalised for the matrix valued case. Some numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency of the new method. The main example will be the electromagnetic scattering problem, that is, the exterior boundary value problem for the Maxwell system. Here, we will show that the matrix valued ACA method works well for high order BEM, and the corresponding high rate of convergence is preserved. Another example shows the efficiency of the new method in comparison with the standard technique, whilst approximating the smoothed version of the matrix valued fundamental solution of the time harmonic Maxwell system. In this paper, we consider the strongly nonlinear Nernst–Planck equations coupled with the quasi‐linear Poisson equation under inhomogeneous, moreover, nonlinear boundary conditions. This system describes joint multi‐component electrokinetics in a pore phase. The system is supplemented by the force balance and by the volume and positivity constraints. We establish well‐posedness of the problem in the variational setting. Namely, we prove the existence theorem supported by the energy and the entropy a‐priori estimates, and we provide the Lyapunov stability of the solution as well as its uniqueness in special cases. Ductal carcinoma in situ – a special cancer – is confined within the breast ductal only. We derive the mathematical ductal carcinoma in situ model in a form of a nonlinear parabolic equation with initial, boundary, and free boundary conditions. Existence, uniqueness, and stability of problem are proved. Algorithm and illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the technique in this paper. In this paper, we study existence of invariant curves of an iterative equation which is from dissipative standard map. By constructing an invertible analytic solution g (x ) of an auxiliary equation of the form invertible analytic solutions of the form g (λ g  ? 1(x )) for the original iterative functional equation are obtained. Besides the hyperbolic case 0 < |λ | < 1, we focus on those λ on the unit circle S 1, that is, |λ | = 1. We investigate the propagation of infinitesimal harmonic mechanical waves emitted from a boundary with variable velocity and arriving at a stationary observer. In the classical Doppler effect, Xs(t)=vt is the location of the source with constant velocity v. In the present work, however, we consider a source co‐located with a moving boundary x=Xs(t), where Xs(t) can have an arbitrary functional form. For ‘slowly moving’ boundaries (i.e., ones for which the timescale set by the mechanical motion is large in comparison to the inverse of the frequency of the emitted wave), we present a multiple‐scale asymptotic analysis of the moving boundary problem for the linear wave equation. We obtain a closed‐form leading‐order (with respect to the latter small parameter) solution and show that the variable velocity of the boundary results not only in frequency modulation but also in amplitude modulation of the received signal. Consequently, our results extend the applicability of two basic tenets of the theory of a moving source on a stationary domain, specifically that (i) for non‐uniform boundary motion can be inserted in place of the constant velocity v in the classical Doppler formula and (ii) that the non‐uniform boundary motion introduces variability in the amplitude of the wave. For 1‐D first order quasilinear hyperbolic systems without zero eigenvalues, based on the theory of exact boundary controllability of nodal profile, using an extension method, the exact controllability of nodal profile can be realized in a shorter time by means of additional internal controls acting on suitably small space‐time domains. On the other hand, using a perturbation method, the exact controllability of nodal profile for 1‐D first order quasilinear hyperbolic systems with zero eigenvalues can be realized by additional internal controls to the part of equations corresponding to zero eigenvalues. Furthermore, by adding suitable internal controls to all the equations on suitable domains, the exact controllability of nodal profile for systems with zero eigenvalues can be realized in a shorter time.  相似文献

We study the initial boundary value problem for the one‐dimensional Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation posed in a half line with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. Through the analysis of the boundary integral operator, and applying the known results of the Cauchy problem of the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation posed on the whole line , the initial boundary value problem of the Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equation is shown to be globally well‐posed in Sobolev space for any s >?2. In this paper, we will firstly extend the results about Jiu, Wang, and Xin (JDE, 2015, 259, 2981–3003). We prove that any smooth solution of compressible fluid will blow up without any restriction about the specific heat ratio γ. Then we prove the blow‐up of smooth solution of compressible Navier–Stokes equations in half space with Navier‐slip boundary. The main ideal is constructing the differential inequality. We investigate the correctness of the initial boundary value problem of longitudinal impact on a piecewise‐homogeneous semi‐infinite bar consisting of a semi‐infinite elastic part and finite length visco‐elastic part whose hereditary properties are described by linear integral relations with an arbitrary difference kernel. Introducing nonstationary regularization in boundary conditions and in the contact conditions, the well‐posedness of the considered problem is proved.
